"Power Plug Adaptor 32A ➜ 16A": How to Use It Safely
For those using a 32A Portable charger who want to use it with a household socket that only supports 16A, using an adaptor (Adapter) is one option that makes it possible — but it must be used carefully and with the right knowledge for maximum safety.
An adaptor is not for permanent use
A 32A Power Plug adaptor is only a temporary current adaptor, suitable only for use in emergencies or when there is no 32A socket. Do not use it continuously on a regular basis, as heat may build up and become dangerous.
How to use an adaptor safely
Set the current appropriately before use
- The charger's current setting must not exceed 16A
Plug in firmly
- Avoid loose connections, as heat will build up and may cause burning
Choose an adaptor that meets standards
- Check that it is rated for 16A and made from heat-resistant materials
Inspect the equipment before every use
- The adaptor must show no burn marks, looseness or damage
- Replace it immediately if you find anything abnormal
EV Easy recommends:
Some EV Easy portable chargers (especially the 32A models) come with a safe adaptor plug that meets the CE standard, and the current can be set on the unit or via the app
- The current can be safely reduced from 32A to 16A
- Automatic power cut-off in the event of leakage or high temperature
- Use with confidence with a household socket or a dedicated 16A socket
