Frequently asked questions
What home electrical supply do I need to install a charger?
To use an EV charger safely and at full performance, your electrical system should be prepared as follows:
- Electricity meter 30(100) or 5(100) — these meters handle more than 32 A, which an EV charger needs because it draws high current continuously. A 15(45) meter (only about 20 A continuous) may not be enough for a 32 A charger, and risks the meter tripping or other loads in the house cutting out.
- 40 A breaker — although the charger draws at most 32 A, a 40 A breaker gives a safety margin. It should be used together with an RCD Type B, or Type A + DC 6 mA, depending on the model.
- Cable size 6 mm² or 10 mm² and above — 6 mm² cable safely carries 32 A over runs of up to 20 metres.
- Earth (ground) wire 10 mm² or larger — the earth wire protects against leakage and electric shock, and must be large enough to trip the supply immediately.
- Earth rod 2.4 metres long, 5/8 inch — keeps earth resistance low to standard; this is the common size for power installations.
In short: if you use a 7.4 kW or higher charger, do not use a 15(45) meter.
Note: if your home supply does not meet these requirements yet, the EV Easy team can inspect the site and advise — for example upgrading the meter, running new cable, or adding an earth system safely.
The screen shows a red light, or the word STOP or STOPED. What should I do?
The red emergency stop button on the right-hand side of the unit has been pressed. Turn it slightly clockwise and the button will pop back out, and the charger will return to normal operation. (On the Model Q, the button is silver.)
Where can I download the WeGoodCharger app?
- iOS (iPhone/iPad): download from the App Store
- Samsung: download from the Galaxy Store
- Other Android phones: download the APK file from our link (Play Store listing in progress)
Why does a car that supports 7.4 kW single-phase only charge at 3.6 kW on an 11 kW charger?
Because an 11 kW charger runs on a 3-phase supply, but the car only accepts single-phase, so it can only draw one third of the total power.
| Charger | Supply | Power per phase |
|---|---|---|
| 7.4 kW | 1-phase | 7.4 kW |
| 11 kW | 3-phase | 3.6 kW |
| 22 kW | 3-phase | 7.4 kW |
- A 7.4 kW single-phase car on an 11 kW charger gets only 3.6 kW
- A 7.4 kW single-phase car on a 7.4 kW charger gets the full 7.3 kW
In short: if your car only supports single-phase, a 7.4 kW charger is faster and better value.
What is the difference between Model U, Black and Q?

Q&A
Product questions (EV chargers)
Which cars do EV Easy chargers support?
EV Easy chargers support almost every EV and plug-in hybrid on the market that uses the European-standard Type 2 connector, such as Tesla (Type 2 models), MG, BYD, Volvo, BMW, Mercedes-Benz, Hyundai, Kia and ORA.
What is the difference between the 7.4 kW, 11 kW and 22 kW models?
The main difference is the power:
- 7.4 kW suits a single-phase home supply with a 30(100) or 5(100) meter (32 A)
- 11 kW suits a 3-phase supply with a 15(45) meter, and only cars that support 11 kW charging (16 A)
- 22 kW suits a 3-phase supply with a 30(100) meter (32 A)
Do the chargers use a Type 1 or Type 2 connector?
Every EV Easy product uses the Type 2 connector, the standard used in Thailand and Europe.
Does the charger need to be earthed?
Absolutely. Every charger must be connected to an earth (ground) wire for safe operation and to reduce the risk of electric shock.
What kind of breaker should I use with the charger?
- 32 A chargers (7.4 kW or 22 kW): use a 40 A breaker with an RCD Type B
- 16 A chargers (11 kW or Portable 16 A): use a 20 A breaker with an RCD Type B
For safety, avoid extension leads and have an electrician run a dedicated circuit for the charger.
Does the charger have leakage current protection?
Our chargers have built-in leakage detection, and we recommend adding a separate 40 A RCD Type B residual current breaker for extra safety.
Can EV Easy chargers be controlled from an app?
Yes. They work with the EVEASY x TUYA/Smart Life app, which lets you switch charging on and off, view charging history and schedule charging from your phone.
What is OCPP, and does my business need it?
OCPP (Open Charge Point Protocol) is an open standard that lets a charger communicate with a back-end system for managing charging stations, for example to monitor charger status, authenticate users and collect charging data in one place.
For businesses that run public charging stations or manage several chargers, OCPP lets you choose your own back-end system instead of being tied to a single provider. Ordinary home charging usually does not need it.
The All-in-One DC chargers (L60 to L480) support OCPP 1.6J, upgradeable to 2.0.1. See DC chargers for details. For other models, ask our team on LINE @eveasy.

Can the charger withstand sun and rain?
All models are rated from IP54 to IP66 for water and dust resistance, so they can be installed outdoors.
What is the difference between wall-mounted and portable models?
Wall-mounted models (Wallbox) suit permanent installation at home or in the office. Portable models are made to carry in the car and can be used anywhere with a standard power socket.
Installation
Do you offer installation at home?
Yes. EV Easy technicians install at homes in Bangkok, the surrounding provinces and the East. Other provinces are available on request (travel fee applies). Send photos or a video of the installation spot on LINE @eveasy and the team will quote before you decide.
How much does installation cost?
The installation fee depends on the job — for example, replacing a charger using the existing cable, or running a completely new circuit. Ask us about installation pricing on LINE.
The price does not include the charger, and depends on the cable length and how complex the site is. Send photos of your consumer unit and the installation spot on LINE and our team will give you an estimate.
How long does installation take?
Usually 3–4 hours, if no extra cabling or consumer-unit upgrade is needed.
What should I prepare before the technician arrives?
- Choose an installation spot near the main consumer unit, or point out the spot if a new circuit is being installed
- Clear the area so it is easy to access
- Let us know in advance if walls need drilling, conduit needs running, or there are any site restrictions
- Do a basic check of the earth wire and breaker
- We recommend sending photos or a video of the installation area so our team can assess it more accurately
Can a charger be installed if my house has no earth wire?
We do not recommend installing without a proper earthing system. Have the installation team inspect and add an earth wire before installing the charger.
Do you test the system after installation?
Yes. After every installation, our technicians test the system for real and show you how to use it.
Who are the installation technicians, and can I trust them?
EV Easy technicians are trained specifically in EV charger installation and understand home electrical systems and protection devices professionally. They check the supply before installing and test real charging before every handover.
Is the installation work under warranty?
Yes — installation work is covered for 2 years, including damage caused by the installed circuit or related equipment.
The installation warranty is separate from the charger warranty, which varies by model — see that model's product page.

Using the charger / troubleshooting
The charger doesn't work when I plug in. What should I check first?
Check that the earth wire is connected, the breaker has not tripped, and the connector is fully plugged in. If the problem continues, contact our service team right away.
Why doesn't the car charge at the charger's maximum rated power?
Even if the charger supports high power, the actual charging power may be lower for these reasons:
- Home electrical supply — a single-phase home can charge at about 7.4 kW at most, so even a 22 kW charger won't reach its rating. If the cable or breaker is undersized, the system reduces power for safety.
- The car's limit — each model has a different on-board charger, e.g. the MG ZS EV accepts 6.6 kW and the Volvo XC40 accepts 11 kW.
- Battery condition — when the battery is nearly full, or too hot or cold, the system reduces charging power automatically.
- Voltage fluctuation — if the voltage drops below 220 V, or during heavy household use such as air conditioners or water heaters, the charger reduces its load automatically.
- A current limit has been set — if you or the technician set a limit in the app, e.g. 16 A or 20 A, the charger will not exceed it.
In short: charging below maximum power is not always a problem — it is the system working for safety and efficiency. Check how much power your car accepts, whether your home supply is sufficient, whether temperature and voltage are normal, and whether a limit is set in the app. If you're still unsure, contact EV Easy technical support and we can check the readings and advise for your model.
Why is the status light red or flashing?
A red light can indicate a fault, such as leakage current, an unstable supply or a connection error. Try restarting the system or contact our technicians.
Some cars show an error when charging. What should I do?
Check that the connector is plugged in firmly, the car is locked while charging, and no safety lock in the car is blocking charging. If the problem continues, contact technical support.
Why does the charger cut out during charging?
Possible causes include an unsuitable breaker, overheating cables or a voltage drop. Have a technician inspect the site, or send us a video clip and we will help check.
My breaker keeps tripping when I charge my EV. What should I do?
Stop using the charger for now, and don't keep switching the breaker back on again and again. A tripping breaker is a sign that something in the electrical system is not right.
Do not open the charger or the breaker panel to fix it yourself. Have an electrician check it.
Common causes include:
- The circuit feeding the charger is too small, or is shared with other appliances
- The leakage detection has been triggered
- Other high-load appliances are running at the same time as the car is charging
Send a photo of your breaker panel and a photo of the charger screen or error message to LINE @eveasy, and our team will take a first look and advise on the next steps.

Can I use a normal household socket?
Portable models can be used with a household socket, but make sure the socket and wiring are rated for at least 16 A and are properly earthed.
If I move house, can the charger be removed?
Yes. Wall-mounted chargers can be removed and moved — have our technicians remove and reinstall it safely.
