Using a Portable Charger Safely

Using a portable EV charger (Portable EV Charger) correctly not only helps extend the life of the equipment, but also helps keep you and your EV safe throughout charging — especially with EV Easy Thailand chargers, which are designed to work with every electric vehicle (EV/PHEV) model in Thailand and come with a full set of safety systems.

What you should know about using an EV Easy portable charger

  • Always plug into the household power supply first. Before you start charging, plug into a socket that meets standards and is rated for 16A or more. If the socket isn't rated for that or you aren't sure, reduce the charging current to 8–10A, and always push the plug fully into the socket for maximum safety.
  • Push the charging connector in firmly until you hear a "click" to make sure charging has really started. Check the status light (blue light = charging).
  • Easy settings via the app. You can adjust the current on the unit or via the app. The V1 and Big Screen models use the WEGOODCHARGER app; the V2 model uses the EVEASY x TUYA/Smart Life app to adjust the current, set start and stop times and check status in real time.
  • Watch out for moisture and standing water. Although EV Easy portable chargers meet the IP66 water-protection standard, you should still place the equipment somewhere dry, avoid areas where water collects and be careful of condensation from humidity.
  • Disconnect correctly. Unlock the TYPE 2 connector before removing it from the car, to avoid damaging the terminals.
  • Store the charger tidily. After use, coil the cable neatly without winding or twisting it tightly, and keep it in the bag provided to extend its service life.

Which charger can your home take?

The right charger depends on your meter size, your existing electrical panel and the distance from the panel to your parking spot — not just your car model. Send photos of your panel and parking spot on LINE and our team will give you a first assessment, or see the four installation options and their pros and cons on our installation service page.
